Profile Tool

The Profile tool allows users to view a profile of a set of sewer pipes or storm conduits. This profile is based on the Rim Elevation, Structure Depth, Upstream and Downstream inverts fields from the Sewer Structure, Sewer Pipe, Storm Structure, and Storm Conduit modules. This information must be filled out correctly first, for the profile to appear correctly.

Make sure both the Sewer Structures and Sewer Pipes, or Storm Structures and Storm Conduits are in the map.
Select the tool from the Lucity GIS Analyst toolbar. The following popup will appear:
The cursor will turn into a cross hair. Click on the first pipe to be in the profile. The profile will go downstream from the pipe selected.
After selecting a pipe the following popup will appear:
Select how many pipes to include in the profile and click OK. The Profile will be created automatically.

Click and hold somewhere in the Profile.
Drag the mouse to form a box.
Let go and the screen will zoom to that selected area.

After zooming in scroll bars appear the left and bottom of the screen.
To the left of the bottom scroll bar and the top of the left hand scroll bar are zoom out buttons.
Click those buttons to cancel the zoom for the corresponding axis

Right click on a structure, pipe, or service in the profile to get the following menu.
Select whether to open the corresponding inventory record in the Desktop or Web
Select the inventory asset.
Lucity will launch and go to that record.

This tab allows users to control which layers show up in the trace by unchecking boxes next to a layer to hide it. The layer symbology is predefined; however, the size of the symbology can be changed.

Width/Size - Changes the size of the symbology.

Labels in the profile are predefined and located in preset spots that can't be changed. This tab allows users to control which labels show up by unchecking boxes next to a label to hide it.

Angle - Rotate the labels for better fit.

Smart Labels - Check this to have the program automatically place the labels to avoid overlapping.

Label information

Rim Elevation - The rim elevation number from the structure.

Upstream Inverts - The upstream invert number from the pipe.

Downstream Inverts - The downstream invert number from the pipe.

Structure Info - Diameter, Width, Wall Material, Depth, Component Type, Structure Type

Structure name - Network Structure ID

Pipe Info - Dia/Height (in), Material, Length (ft), Slope %

labels_tab

This provides a 3D view of the profile graph and allows users to control it.

Display Profile in 3D - moves it into a 3d view as displayed below

Point depth - controls how wide each set of data is. 0 point depth, is the normal 2D image.

Gap Depth - how much space is between each data set

Rotate X/Y - controls the rotation of the 3d image.

Page Setup - Allows users to change the page settings before printing.

Print Preview - Displays a preview of the print job.

Print - Prints the profile.

Save as Image - Allows users to save the profile as an image.

Copy Image - Puts the profile image on the clipboard.

Title	This indicates whether the trace was a Sewer or Storm trace.
Legend	Provides a reference of the symbology used in the profile
Options	Each tab contains options that allow users to control the layers and labels displayed, a 3d view, and printing.
Summary	Provides an overall summary of the profile.
