The Update Sign Regulations tool allows users to assign a group of signs to a specific sign regulation. Before using this tool regulations must be setup in Lucity in the Transportation > Regulations module.
How To Update Sign Regulations
Using the ESRI selection tool, select a group of signs
Click the Update Sign Regulations tool .
The System will check to make sure there is a Sign feature class in the project. If one is not found, it will prompt to add one before using this tool.
If there is more than one feature layer with signs in the dataset, the Feature Layer Selection dialog will appear. Select the appropriate layer from the drop-down list.
The MUTCD selection dialog will appear, allowing users to choose the code for the sign they'd like to use.
Signs are assigned to regulations based on the MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Device) code.
Users can highlight multiple signs in the list. The regulation they select in the following step will be applied to all highlighted signs.
Select a regulation from the right-hand grid. These regulations are from the Regulation module and are then associated with the Sign Inventory module.
ClickOK when the selections are finished. An error message will appear if either an MUTCD code or Regulation is not highlighted.
Before the system runs this tool, a prompt will appear informing the user that the highlighted signs will be assigned to the selected regulation even if they are already attached to an existing regulation. Select Yes or No to continue.
The system will now update the Regulation Manager. When this process is complete, a dialog will appear with the number of records updated. There is then the option to open and edit the sign regulation in the desktop application.
