Master Project Locations

The View Master Project Locations tool allows users to view master project locations in ArcMap with the option to view project conflicts. This tool is effective for any master project that has an address, an X/Y Coordinate, or assets assigned to the master project.

Click the button in the toolbar. The following pop-up will appear:
Select Master Projects.
Click OK. The associated tool will appear.

Click on the View Master Project Locations tool . The associated tool will appear.
Note: This option will not work if there is already a master project layer in the map.
The tool allows users to filter down which master projects to display.
Select a filter. This is a required step because it controls how many master projects will be displayed.
- Check the Show my Filters only box to only show filters created by the current user.
The System Default list shows which fields are automatically included in the results
In the right hand column, choose any additional fields to display that are not in the System Default Fields list.
Check the Project Conflicts box to have additional group layers added to the results that shows project conflicts. A conflict is any location where projects overlap.
Select Display. New layers will be added to the map.
The tool will attempt to map all locations for all master projects that meet the selected criteria. Features that weren't able to be spatially represented will still be added to the layer, but will have a value of 0 in the FoundInMap field in the attribute table for the feature class.

After work master projects have been plotted click on the View Master Project Locations tool .
While the View Master Project Locations tool is enabled, right-click on a work master project location. A menu will appear with three options:
- View Work Master Project(s)
- Edit Work Master Project(s)
- View Work Master Project Report
Selecting the desired option will open a submenu that lists the work master projects located within the search tolerance of the mouse-click.
- To perform an option on multiple work master projects, use the ESRI selection tool to select the work master projects prior to using the View Work Locations tool, then right-click and the For all selected Work Master Projects option will be added to the submenu list.
Select the work master project from the list to perform the function
- View Work Master Projects: This option will open the selected work master project(s) in the desktop in view mode.
- Edit Work Master Project(s): This will open the selected work master project(s) in an editable grid within ArcMap. By default, all required fields are added to the grid. This includes both fields required by the desktop application and fields set required by users.
- View Work Master Project Report: This will open the Work Master Project Report that is provided as a default Lucity report. This tool will take a snapshot of the current ArcMap display and saves it as a .jpg which is used by the Work Master Project Report.



Select a Filter		Provides a list of saved filters from the Master Projects module.
	Show my filters only		Narrows the list of filters to only show the current user's filter.
System Default Fields		This is a list of fields from the Master Projects module that will automatically be included in the temporary feature class that this tool creates. These fields will be part of the attribute table.
Select Additional Fields		This is a list of more fields from the Master Projects module that user can select to appear in this tool's results in addition to the System Default Fields.
	Save as new user default		Saves the user's selection in the Select Additional Fields section as their default selection when using this tool.
Project Conflicts		This option creates several more layers that display where there is an overlap in work done between two projects. Check the Create additional layer to show project conflicts box to turn this on. By entering a Buffer Amount the tool will look for work that is close together instead of identical. For example a master project might include work on traffic lights, the sidewalk, and the road. Normally the tool wouldn't see those as conflicts because they are all separate features that are in different locations, even though they are in close proximity. By adding a buffer the tool might find those as conflicts, so project managers recognize that they need to pay attention to how the work is scheduled in that location.
