Show Map Interface

The Show Map Interface tool allows you to add GIS assets to existing work orders.

Complete the steps below:

1. Go into the Work Order module and find the work order. 
2. Right click in the Assets tab and select Add Assets from Map.

   

3. This will open ArcMap to the project that you specified under System > Configuration > Show In Map.  Once the project is opened, a dialog box will appear.  It tells you to press F2 when you are ready to attach the selected assets.

    

4. After you have selected OK on the dialog, make sure that the layer name is checked in the selection tab of the table of contents (shown below).  ArcMap will only allow assets with the correct asset type to be selected.

   

5. Using the Show Map Interface tool , left click and drag to draw a box around the features you would like to add.
6. If you have more than one feature to add, hold down the Shift key to select each feature.  While using this function (Add Assets from Map), you are still able to use other tools (zoom, pan, etc.); however, if you use another tool, you will need to select the Show Map Interface tool again so that you can continue to select your assets.  Once that process is complete, press the F2 key. This will take you back to the work order in Lucity where you will see your selected assets included in the Work Order module, Assets tab.
