Attach/Detach Children records

Often records CAN or MUST be associated to another record. Records that CAN be attached are usually two assets that are related. For example a water hydrant can be associated to a water pipe. However records that MUST be attached to the parent, are usually things like inspections/ and tests. For example a Water Hydrant Flow test Must be associated to a hydrant.

Records can be added or associated in child grids. The Add/Delete and Attach/Detach tools appear in child grids for this purpose.

• The Add/Delete usually appear in places where the child grid is tracking records that MUST be associated to the parent.
• The Attach/Detach usually appear in places where the child grid is tracking records that CAN be associated to the parent, but are not dependant on the parent.

  Note: If these tools are not available: 1) the current user doesn't have permission, 2)they have been turned of, or 3) those records cannot be created/attached from this module, only viewed.
