The security system is designed to control your staff's access to the Lucity programs. It allows the system administrator to define group and individual permissions to use certain functions within the Lucity suite.
Group rights are assigned to a group of individuals. You can assign group rights based on employee classifications or by job function. For example, if you have several employees classified as maintenance foremen who make sure work orders are completed, you might create a group called "Maintenance Foremen" and assign those workers to the group giving them permission to edit work orders and add images, movies, or documents. However, you may not want them to be able to add or delete work orders.
You can also assign group rights by job function. For example, if you have employees who are responsible for pipe inspections, you might create a group with permission to add records in inspection modules. This group could then enter all inspection results in the inspection module.
Individual rights can be assigned to anyone you choose, including those who have group rights. For example, you can assign an employee to a group and still give them additional individual rights that other group members do not possess.
Note: Certain rights that could adversely affect the system should be reserved for the system administrator.
