General Tab

The General tab allows you to enter basic information about a piece of equipment.  These fields may include the equipment's manufacturer, the operator of the equipment, the department that uses the equipment, and the year the equipment was made. You can also identify a low or high priority piece of equipment.

Shared Fields

A shared field is one that shares a field caption and/or pick list with another field.  Below is a list of the shared fields in the General tab.

Special Function Fields

Below is a list of fields in the General tab that have special functionality.

WO Equip Code

Note: If you do not own the Work program, this field will be unavailable.

This field is used to link pieces of equipment together OR to create a new record for the equipment piece in the Work Flow Setup Equipment module.

  • If you press F5 while your cursor is in this field, the system will automatically fill it with the same Equipment ID you entered in the header, and a new record will be created for the equipment piece in the Work Flow Setup Equipment module. This is an easy way to create two records (in two different modules) at one time.
  • If you press F9 while your cursor is in this field, the equipment inventory pick list will appear allowing you to link another piece of equipment with the current one.

Default WO Cat

Note: If you do not own the Work program, this field will be unavailable.

This field allows you to set up a default category for an item of inventory.  Multiple categories are available in the pick list. To view the categories, press F9 or click on the Default WO Cat button.  When you create a work order, the default category and related equipment information will be imported into the new work order record.

Fleet ID

This read-only field displays the Fleet ID of the vehicle to which the Equipment record is attached.

Note: Equipment is associated with a vehicle in Fleet inventory via the Attached Equipment grid on the Fleet Tracking tab.
