Setup: Lucity Webmap(and other gis edits) to Lucity

This configuration provides a way to push edits from a Non-ArcMap Editing environment into Lucity. Edits made in this sort of environment are automatically saved into the geodatabase. A GIS Task then checks a Feature Service at a regular interval and updates Lucity with any changes.

Possible Applications

This setup can be used for

• Lucity Webmap > Lucity
• Collector for ArcGIS > Lucity
• Any other 3rd party mapping application > Lucity

Setup

For this configuration we are moving data from the geodatabase into the Lucity Database.

Feature Service

This configuration uses the same feature service that was setup to push updates from Lucity to the geodatabase. Feature services are map services published through ArcServer that have Feature Access capabilities enabled. The feature service is added to the Lucity connection string in the Lucity Administration tool under GIS > Connection Strings.

• Create the Feature service
  • The map service must contain all of the feature classes that you want to update in the geodatabase.
  • The feature classes must display all of the fields that are configured to link to lucity.
  • It does NOT need any additional Non-Lucity feature classes.
  • This can either be a new map service, or an existing one.
  • This map does not need to be included in any web maps.
  • It doesn't need any special symbology.
  • This map service must use a user account that has edit permissions to the feature classes Lucity will update in the geodatabase.
  • The map service must be pointed to the version that Lucity should update.
• Open Lucity Administration Tool > GIS > Connection Strings.
• Find your connection string that the links to the same data that the feature service does.
• Add the URL for the feature service to the connection string under Edit Map Service URL.

  Note: This configuration can also use the Alternative Feature Services.

  Users need Lucity admin permissions to access this tool.

GIS Tasks

The second part of this integration is the GIS task that updates Lucity with new GIS data on a regular basis. These are setup in the Geodatabase configuration.

1. Open the Geodatabase Configuration.
2. Select a feature class to set up a task for.
3. Right-click on the feature class and select Add > Scheduled Task.
4. Fill out the scheduled task.

Copy a GIS Task

After creating a GIS task for one feature class you can copy it and use it for other feature classes that should be synced to lucity on a similar schedule.

1. Right-click on a Task and select Copy Task.
2. Use the resulting pop-up to copy the task to other Feature Classes.
