General Setup and Configuration

Before using any of the Lucity GIS applications some system configuration and setup is required.

Integration Configuration

• ArcMap to Lucity Integration * - Allows ArcMap to update Lucity.
• Geodatabase Configuration * - Connects feature classes and fields to Lucity modules and fields.
• Lucity to Geodatabase Integration - Allows Lucity to update the Geodatabase with attributes
• Lucity Webmap to Lucity Integration - Allows the webmap editing tools to update Lucity. This also works for any other non-arcmap editing environment.
• Lucity Spatial Generator - Checks work order/request assets and locations against the geodatabase and stores the spatial results in the Lucity Database. This provides a live layer of work locations.

Definitions

GIS Connection Strings - Store information that tells different parts of the integration which gis resources to connect to. This includes a connection the geodatabase and a map service or feature service used to pass updates.

Feature Service - An editable collection of feature classes that are published to the internet/intranet using ArcServer. This can be used to pass updates from Lucity to the geodatabase.

Map Service - A collection of feature classes that are published to the internet/intranet using ArcServer. This can be used in conjunction with the Lucity SOE to pass updates from Lucity to the geodatabase.

Geodatabase configuration - This refers to a Lucity tool that is stored in ArcCatalog. This tool is where people configure which feature classes and fields talk to which Lucity modules and fields.

GIS Task - These are special tasks setup in the Geodatabase Configuration and executed by the Lucity Services. These are used to push updated information from Lucity to the Geodatabase and from the Geodatabase to Lucity at a regularly scheduled interval.

Settings

There are various settings for Lucity GIS that are maintained within the Lucity Administration Tool. These settings govern how the integration between the Lucity and its related GIS products functions. There are also settings that control how some of the Lucity Tools in Arc Map function.

Integration Configuration Settings

The settings that control the integration allow administrators to: Deny Lucity the ability to update the geodatabase, control how lucity functions when it can update the geodatabase. receive error reports when a geodatabase update fails, etc...

The integration configuration settings are found in the Lucity Administration tool under System > Settings > GIS Edit Integration tab.

GIS Desktop Tool settings

The GIS Desktop tool settings allow users to manage how several of the Lucity tools within ArcMap function.
