This configuration makes sure that the Lucity tools in ArcMap will recognize which feature classes are linked to Lucity and push changes made to those feature classes to the Lucity Database.
Note: All Agencies using GIS must complete this configuration
Setup
Connection String
A geodatabase connection string is the primary link between ArcMap and Lucity. For Lucity the connection string is created in the Lucity Administration Tool under GIS > Connection Strings.
Users need Lucity admin permissions to access this tool.
What this does
The Lucity tools in ArcMap compare this connection string with the information used to connect to feature classes in ArcMap. If the connection information matches it considers the geodatabase a Lucity linked geodatabase. It then checks the geodatabase configuration to see if any of the the feature classes in the map are linked to Lucity.
During the ArcMap edit session the Lucity editor keeps track of all edits made to Lucity linked feature classes. When you save edits to save those changes to the geodatabase the Lucity editor syncs all changes into the Lucity database.
