Template radio

When you select the "Templates" radio button in the Dashboard/Preferences dialog, the list of available templates will be displayed. System administrators can then Add new Templates, Edit existing Templates, Delete Templates, or Preview Templates.

Note: Editing or deleting a template that has already been applied to a user will not alter that user's settings.

Templates allow you to quickly apply pre-defined general settings to users' Dashboards. You can define Templates for groups of users with similar needs, and then customize individual settings for specific users.  

There are only minor differences between creating User settings and Template settings:

  1. On the Dashboard/Preferences dialog, click the Add button to add a new Template. The following window will appear:

  2. Enter a unique Template Name and click OK.
  3. Add Dashboards, Links, Frames, and Plugins as you would for a New User. 
  4. Click Save to accept the settings.
  5. When a new user is added (or a new template), an existing template can be selected to automatically fill in the Frame and Frame Item information. Click the Apply Template button and select a template from the drop down list if you'd like to use this feature.
  6. To apply templates to existing users (those with Dashboard pages already defined), use the Apply Batch Template function. Follow the link for additional information.

    Note: The Apply Batch Template function is also used to apply Template settings to multiple users at a time.
