Getting Started

The Warehouse modules must be set up in the following sequence:

  1. In order to establish a parts inventory system, you must first create a warehouse within the Warehouse module. Warehouses can be buildings, yards, trucks, etc.
  2. You can identify multiple storage locations within each warehouse using the Location grid. These can be bins, shelves, truck beds, etc.
  3. Once warehouses and locations are established, parts can be added in the Parts Inventory module, and their locations can be tracked in the various warehouses.

Important: The order above is imperative; you cannot save a part in Parts Inventory without selecting a pre-existing default location from the Warehouse module.

  4. A variety of transactions are available to keep inventory up-to-date, including part transfers, quantity and cost adjustments, and inventory allocations. A straightforward purchase order system is also provided. Tracking orders to and from vendors is simple: vendor part numbers are linked to the part numbers used by your organization, making for an easy translation between vendor purchase orders and inventoried parts.
  5. Linking each inventory part to the corresponding material in the Work module allows for automated tracking of inventory. This integration is accomplished by linking each material code in the Work module with the corresponding part in the warehouse program. Thus, when a work order is created, the appropriate part's inventory quantity can be automatically reduced. When the work order is completed, the parts used from the vehicle/warehouse reduce the inventory of that vehicle/warehouse.
