Lucity GIS Editing for Street

The following feature classes are available in the street feature dataset for street network items:

Note:  Refer to Editing Requirements for a description of  the format of these requirements.

• Street segments should be drawn intersection to intersection, and are typically only broken at intersections and name changes. The SNG_ST_SID field is a pick list of street names; this prevents invalid street names from being assigned to street segments. There are also street name fields (SNG_ST_DIR, SNG_ST_STR, SNG_ST_TY, SNG_ST_SFX) in this feature class; these fields should not be populated.  These are used for address matching and are automatically populated when you save edits.
• If you chose to use this feature class for your geocoding, you will need to populate the to and from address fields and possibly the to and from zone fields (if you use zones in your geocoding).
• There is a from and to intersection field in the feature class (SNG_CM1_NID and SNG_CM2_NID).  Intersections are not required.  If you chose to draw intersections and uniquely number them, these two fields will automatically be populated.  You should not manually populate these two fields.

  Note:  If you use the Accident module, you must map your intersections.

• Most spatial changes to this feature class should be made through the Segment Toolbar.
• Do not manually add, delete, merge, split features in this feature class.  Do not change any of the following fields:
  • SBG_SBSEGCD Subsegment Code
  • SBG_STARTPT Start Point
  • SBG_ENDPT End Point
  • SBG_SUPER
  • SBG_LENGTH Length
  • SBG_SN_ID
  • SBG_ID
• The remaining attributes may be updated.

• Do not modify the spatial attributes of any features in this feature class.  The SPG_UNIQUE (Unique ID) field should not be modified either. Both of these changes should be made using the Segment Toolbar.
• The following attributes may be updated:
  • SPG_DESCR Description
  • SPG_STYPE_CD Subtype
  • SPG_OVCN_CD Condition

• Street structures is the catch all for street assets.  If the feature you want to map does not fit well into any of the feature classes, it can be mapped in this one.  If the street structure is snapped to a street segment, the street segment data will be populated in the Street Structure Inventory module.

Note:  There are two bridge feature classes in the GBAGIS geodatabase.  In order to integrate with the Bridge module, the STBRIINVG feature class must be used.
