Adding Data Drills

Within each frame, the user can set up individual data drills.  A data drill displays raw data from a filter in the form of a tree view. Each filter provides access to one or more Lucity modules. This allows the Dashboard to be Work Order based, Service Request based, as well as Asset based. Follow the steps below to add data drills to the Frame:

Add Data Drill

  1. The label you entered on the "Add Plugins" dialog will be carried over to the Label field. You can edit it if needed. This label will be displayed on the Dashboard page.
  2. You'll need to add a filter string for the data drill. Filters define the content of the root data displayed in the plugin. Click the Acquire button to add a filter to the data drill. For additional information, consult the Acquiring Filters topic.
  3. You can add multiple drill-downs under each filter. These will appear as sub-items under the original filter on the Dashboard frame. This feature provides you with a way to sort the data as it appears on the page.

  4. For each data drill, you can choose whether you'd like it to launch your desktop software or open one of your custom web forms.
  5. Click OK when you are ready to accept your data drill settings.
