Often, materials are issued for a specific purpose outside of Work Orders. Agencies have the ability to assign Parts to either employees or assets within Lucity and to track those Parts.
There are two types of Parts:
Consumable - Consumable parts are considered to be used up at the point that they are issued to an employee; therefore, they cannot be returned to the inventory. Plastic gloves would be an example of a consumable item. A part is consumable if the Part Inventory record has the Consumable flag marked.
Non-consumable - Non-consumable items are expected to be returned to the party that issued them. For instance, an agency might issue a fire extinguisher to an employee to keep in a service truck. A part is non-consumable if the Part Inventory record does not have the Consumable flag marked.
