The Equipment Inventory module tracks all equipment for which usage is measured by an hour meter or other meter (not an odometer).
Each Equipment Inventory record tracks the basic attributes of a piece of equipment, as well as its relationship to other assets. Information on meter readings, inspections, associated Work Orders, and PM templates is also available here.
In addition, this module enables agencies to estimate the running cost of the piece of equipment and assess its life span based on costs and usage.
Common Tasks
To open the Equipment Inventory module, select one of the following:
Method 1 - Add the Inspection from the Equipment record
Open the Equipment Inventory module.
Click the button next to the desired equipment record.
Select the equipment's Inspection grid and click the button. A new inspection record is started with the Equipment ID field filled out using the ID for the associated equipment.

Method 2 - Add the Inspection from the Inspection module
Open the Equipment Inspection module.
Click the button. A new record will appear.
Enter or select the Equipment ID for the equipment the inspection is for (required).

Enter the Date Inspected (required).
The combination of Equipment ID and Date Inspected must form a unique combination.
Complete other fields as desired.
Use the Maintenance Requested or Needs Repair fields to automatically create a request or work order for the site.
Method 1: Add a Reading to an Equipment item through the Equipment Inventory module
Open the Fleet > Equipment > Equipment Inventory module.
Click the button to expand the Equipment record to which you want to add a reading.
Select the record's Readings grid and click the Add New button in the grid toolbar. A new Reading record appears with the selected record's Equipment ID already identified.

Method 2: Create a new Reading record in the Equipment Reading module
Open the Fleet > Equipment > Equipment Reading module.
Click the Add New button. A new record appears,
Enter or select the Equipment ID (required) for the item for which you want to record a reading.

Enter the Date (required) of the reading.
The combination of Equipment ID and Date must form a unique combination.
Complete other fields as desired.
Click Save to save the record. The new Reading record appears in the Equipment asset's Readings grid and in the Equipment Reading module.
