Geocoding Configuration

The Web Map supports two different methods for locating addresses.

Locating Using a Geolocation Service

  1. Identify the REST URL for the geolocation service.
  2. In the Lucity Administration Tool, go to System > Settings > GIS Web tab (GIS Web, http://help.lucity.com/webhelpv150/admin/index.htm#28999.htm).
  3. Enter the URL for the geolocation service in the URL for Geocoding Service or URL to parcel layer in map service field.
  4. Save changes.

Locating Using a Parcel Layer

  1. Tell the Web Map that it is a parcel service, rather than a geocoding service.
    1. In the Lucity Administration Tool, go to System > Settings > GIS Web tab (GIS Web, http://help.lucity.com/webhelpv150/admin/index.htm#28999.htm).
    2. Set the Use an address layer for address queries instead of geocoding service option to TRUE.
  2. Specify a Parcel Layer.
    1. Identify the REST URL for the map service that contains the parcel layer.
    2. Copy the layer index number for the parcel layer.
    3. In the Lucity Administration Tool, go to System > Settings > GIS Web tab (GIS Web, http://help.lucity.com/webhelpv150/admin/index.htm#28999.htm).
    4. Enter the URL for the geolocation service in the URL for Geocoding Service or URL to parcel layer in map service field.
    5. Add the layer index number to the end of the URL. It should look something like this: ...rest/services/baselayers/MapServer/10.
  3. Specify a query template that the application can use when querying.
