The Dashboard is the home page of the Lucity Web product and the first thing a user sees when logging in to the system. It provides a brief overview of module data and serves as a portal to more detailed information. Through the dashboard, users have immediate access to the modules that they use frequently.
The Dashboard/Preferences dialog lets users easily customize the look and content of their dashboards. It also allows administrators to create dashboards for individual users or dashboard templates that can be applied to multiple users.

Dashboard/Template Components
Dashboards are linked to a specific user. They consist of Tabs, Frames, and Plugins (described in the table below).
Using the Dashboard/Preferences tool, users can create and customize each layer of the dashboard. The following sections explain how to create an individual Dashboard and a Template. However, the two processes are nearly identical.
Tabs |
A Tab displays a set of data elements. One user can have an unlimited number of tabs, which are listed down the left-hand side of the screen. Clicking on a tab switches the view to the frames and plugins that tab employs. |
Frame |
A Frame is a space on the Dashboard that contains Frame Plug-ins. |
Plugin |
Plugins are the software components that actually display data within Frames. Lucity employs six standard types of plugins: Asset Hierarchy Trees, Crystal Reports, Data Drills, Quick Lookups, RSS Feeds, and URLs |
