Apply Batch Template

The Apply Batch Template tool allows users to apply Dashboard Templates to multiple users at once.

On the Dashboard/Preferences dialog, click the Apply Batch Template button. The following dialog appears:
Determine whether you wish to apply the template to new or existing users.
- Select the Existing Users radio button to display a list of all users who currently have defined Dashboards. Applying templates to these users will overwrite their current dashboard/preferences.
- Select the New Users radio button to display a list of all users who do not have a Dashboard defined.
Select an individual User from the left-hand list. Then, use the right arrow button to add that user to the Users for Template grid in the center. Repeat this process for additional users as needed. Use the left arrow button to remove a user from the Users for Template grid.
Highlight a Template in the right-hand list. Click the Preview Template button to display its settings.
Click Apply Template. The following message appears to warn the user that the selected Template will overwrite the current Dashboard settings for all selected users. Click Yes.

On the Dashboard/Preferences dialog, click the Apply Batch Template button. The following dialog appears:
Select the Existing Users radio button to display a list of all users who currently have defined Dashboards.
- The Reapply Template button works only for users who already have a dashboard set up and a Template applied.
- Applying templates to these users will overwrite their current Dashboard/Preferences.
Select users in the Users grid. Then, use the right arrow button to add that user to the Users for Template grid at center.
- You can select one user, all users to whom the template was previously applied, or everybody.
Highlight a Template in the right-hand list.
Click Reapply Template. This function will apply the template only to users in the Users for Template grid who previously had that same template. So, if all users are selected and added to the Users For Template grid, only those who previously had that same template will have it reapplied.
The following message appears:
Click OK.

Users Grid	Displays a list of either new users or existing users based on the radio buttons located below the grid. From this list, administrators select the users to whom to apply the template(s). Records in this grid can be sorted by the User, Group, and Template Applied columns.
Lookup Button	Enables the user to search for specific users.
Existing/New Users	These radio buttons control which type of users appear in the Users grid: The Existing Users option shows users who already have a Dashboard setup. The New Users option shows users that do not have a Dashboard.
	Used to add or remove users to/from the Users for Template grid.
Users for Template Grid	Displays the users to whom the template will be applied.
Template Grid	Lists all existing templates.
Apply Template	Applies the selected template to the users currently in the Users for Template grid.
Reapply Template	Applies the selected Template to any users in the Users for Template grid who previously have had the template without having to identify them individually. This capability is useful in cases in which a template has changed and must be reapplied to previous users.
Preview Template	Displays a preview of the selected Template's dashboard.
Close	Exits this tool.
