Setup: Map Service and Lucity SOE

The old way of setting up the Lucity to Geodatabase integration was using a Map Service and the Lucity SOE. This is still a viable option but should not be used if agencies are planning on setting up the Lucity Webmap > Lucity Database configuration.

Note: This option should NOT be used if an agency is planning on using GIS Tasks to push updates from the Geodatabase to Lucity.

Setup

A map service with the soe creates a link between Lucity and the Geodatabase. A map service contains feature class and database connection information that is published through ArcServer. The Lucity SOE is enabled on the service and uses its connection information to pass information from Lucity to the geodatabase. The map service is added to the Lucity connection string in the Lucity Administration tool under GIS > Connection Strings.

  1. Install the Lucity SOE
  2. Configure a Map Service
  3. In the Lucity Administration Tool > GIS > Connection Strings Update the Connection String with the Map Service URL

Relevant Settings

In the Lucity Administration tool under System > Settings > GIS Edit Integration tab there is a list of settings that affect this integration.

Note: The Use Feature Service instead of Lucity SOE must be set to FALSE.
