The Lucity GIS Edit tools include a tool used to define supersegments in the geodatabase and in the desktop. This tool can be used to create new supersegments, add to an existing supersegment, remove from existing supersegment, or redefine an existing supersegment.
Note: This tool is only enabled if all of the following conditions are met: (1) One or more features are selected in the map (2) The features are linear.
How To Use the supersegment define tool
In ArcMap, start an edit session.
Select a set of subsegments in the map.
Click the Supersegment Define tool on the Lucity GIS Edit toolbar.
The define tool requires that edits be saved before and after performing the split. In addition, the street segment associated to the selected subsegment(s) will be synced to the desktop. This will ensure that the selected subsegment(s) are validated with the desktop. The following prompt will appear.
Click Yes. The following dialog will appear.
Select an option:
Create a new supersegment: select this option to create a new supersegment record in the desktop from the selected subsegments.
Fill out the Supersegment Attribute fields.
The Superseg ID field is required.
Redefine an existing supersegment: select this option to redefine the subsegments in an existing supersegment. This will take the existing supersegment, remove all subsegments and add the selected subsegments
The form will expand with a list of current supersegments.
Select the supersegment to redefine.
Make any desired changes to the supersegment attributes.
Add to existing supersegment: select this option to add the selected subsegments to an existing supersegment
The form will expand with a list of current supersegments.
Select the supersegment to add the subsegments to.
Make any desired changes to the supersegment attributes.
Remove from an existing supersegment: select this option to remove the selected subsegments from a supersegment.
After making all selections, click OK.
A message will appear when the process is finished.
