Defining Supersegment Process within the Desktop Application

The following is an overview of the define supersegment process within the desktop:

• Create a new supersegment inventory record (if option was selected)
• Populate the supersegment attributes
  • The description, group, pavement and classification type are updated.
• Disassociate existing subsegments (if option was selected)
• Associate selected subsegments
• Recalculate supersegments that had subsegments removed
  • Recalculate the length and area fields for the supersegment
  • Recreate the supersegment feature in the map
  • For example, if one of the selected subsegments was associated to supersegment A, and now you want to have it associated to supersegment B this step will recalculate the length/area for supersegment A since it no longer contains the selected subsegment. It will also recreate the geometry for supersegment A in the map.
