Split Street Segments

The Street Split tool will split a street segment in both the geodatabase and in Lucity. This tool must be used instead of the ESRI split tool

Note: This tool is only enabled if all of the following conditions are met: (1) One feature is selected in the map (2) The feature selected is linear.

How To Split a street segment in the map

  1. In ArcMap, start an edit session.
  2. Select a street segment in the map.
  3. Click the Segment Split on the GIS Edit toolbar.

  4. The split tool requires that edits be saved before and after performing the split. One of the following prompts will appear.

    SW_Split Message

    SM_Merge Message

  5. Click Yes. Using the mouse, left-click on the line where the split should occur. The pointer should automatically snap to the line.

  6. The following dialog will appear if there is more than one editable street intersection feature class in the map. Select a feature class that will contain the intersection.

  7. Click OK and the following form will appear.

  8. After making all selections, click OK.
  9. The following message will appear when the process is finished.

    SW_Split Success
