The Subset Manager allows you to save a group of filtered records from one module as a subset that can be viewed in related modules. For example, if you create a subset in the SewerTelevision Inspection module of all pipes inspected prior to November 20, 2002, the subset can be viewed in both TelevisionInspection and Pipe Inventory because the subset contains information pertaining to both modules.
There are two types of subsets in Lucity: Inventory subsets and Address subsets.
Inventory subsets - collections of asset inventory records. These are created in an asset inventory module or a related child module like an inspection.
Address subsets - collections of addresses. These are created in the Customer Address, Work Requests, and Work Orders modules.
Note: Subsets do not automatically update as records are added. If additional records are entered, the subset must be recreated to include the latest data.
Create a filter that contains the data you want to include in the subset.
Click on the module toolbar to open the Subset Manager window.
Note: If the module is capable of creating address subsets a prompt will appear at this point asking what kind of subset your are creating
Click to open the New Subset window.
Name the new subset.
Note: If you click the green arrow, in the bottom left corner, you will see a list of existing subset names (duplicate names are not permitted).
Click to save the new subset and return to the Subset Manager window where the name of the new subset will appear.
or
Click to return to the Subset Manager window without saving the new subset.
You can also create a subset from a GIS map by selecting a set of features from the map and saving them as a subset. You can then view the subset in GIS or another related module.
A tutorial movie is available for creating an asset subset from an asset module.
This allows you to load all the records from the subset that also meet the current filter criteria; thus, narrowing your search and creating a smaller record set. You can also apply the sort feature to filters and then upon loading your subset, the records will be sorted in the specified order.
Note: Advanced filters that include the following syntax are not supported by this feature: WHERE [ID] IN (SELECT [ID] FROM.
To load a subset in an existing filter, complete the following steps:
Click on the module toolbar to open the Subset Manager window.
Note: If the module is capable of using address subsets a prompt will appear at this point asking what kind of subset your are dealing with. If this appears select the Load Address Subset or Load Inventory Subset option. If you select Load Inventory subset option you may also need to select the related inventory.
