Water Valve Operating Status Field

The Water Valve Operating Status controls whether the valve is currently open or closed, or if it is inoperable.  By default this is set to VLG_OP_A_CD, which is called Operating Status.  The field that is selected is used to create the two lists on the left hand side.

The following lists are directly from the Operating Status pick lists in Lucity™:

• Open Valve - All valves that are currently considered to be open (Ex - 'Open').
• Valve Cannot Be Closed - All valves that cannot be closed (Ex - 'buried in Place Open').

Water Valve Isolation Flag Field

This is a true/false field that identifies whether or not a valve can isolate flow.  If the field is set to false, then the system will assume that the valve is not able to isolate flow and will continue tracing to find valves that are capable of isolating flow.

Water Hydrant Pipe Number Field

If you have a water main number assigned to each hydrant, the system can automatically determine which hydrants are affected by a water outage.  This pipe number should be the pipe number for a main line, not a hydrant feeder line.

Water Hydrant Select Distance

If you do not have pipe number assigned to each hydrant, you can have the GIS select all hydrants that are within a specified distance of water mains experiencing an outage.  This distance is in the same units as your map.  This is a less accurate method, but does not require pipe numbers to be assigned to hydrants.
