Assets Tab

The Assets tab provides a list of inventory assets that the master project involves. This provides access to those assets' inventory records and allows users to create new work orders involving the selected assets. Other special functions in this grid vary depending on the type of assets listed. The tab contains a grid which has this header bar. The records in the grid can be sorted by clicking on a column header (below a sort arrow is highlighted in orange).

Assets can be rearranged by using the reorder buttons

in the lower right corner of the screen. These buttons are enabled when the Sequence column is selected as the sort column (the selected sort column will contain an arrow).

Right click in the grid and select Add Record. The following screen will appear:
Enter the Category and the Asset Type. Press F9 to view a list of options for these fields.
Enter the asset's System ID number(s).
Note: The System ID 2 field will be inaccessible if the chosen category doesn't include linear assets or other assets that require two ID numbers.
Click to save the record when you are finished entering data.

Click to close the window.

To create a subset of assets in the grid

Select the desired asset records in the asset grid.
Right click and select Subset > Create Subset. The following window will appear:
Name the new subset.
Note: Click the green arrow in the bottom left corner to see a list of existing subset names (duplicate names are not permitted).
Click to save the subset.

Right click in the grid and select Subsets>Load Subset.
Choose a category from the following list:
Select a subset from the Subset Manager window.

Click . The subset records will be added to the grid.

To view an asset inventory record, complete the following steps:

Select an asset.
Right click and select View Asset Inventory Record. The asset's inventory record will open in the appropriate module.

Note: Multiple Asset Inventory records can be viewed.

This feature allows users to view an asset's location in a GIS map.

Select the asset(s).
Right click and select View Asset in Map. The GIS map will open and zoom to the selected asset(s) in the map.
