Creating the LiveData Repository

Once you've created a Personal Geodatabase (or have ArcSDE set up) and you have completed the system setup in the Lucity UI Admin program, you're ready to create the LiveData Repository. This is a set of blank tables that will store the spatial data.

Important: Please refer to the Lucity UI Admin help guide for additional setup information regarding the GIS Connection Strings, ArcServer System Settings, and GIS System Settings.

  1. Open ArcCatalog and access your Personal Geodatabase (or, if you are using ArcSDE, connect to the ArcSDE database).

Note: This geodatabase needs to be accessible to all users who need to access the data.

  2. From the ArcCatalog toolbar, expand the "Tools" drop down menu. Click on the "Create LiveData Repository" tool.

  3. You may be prompted to login to Lucity at this time. After logging in, you'll receive a prompt asking if you'd like to create the LiveData Repository in this container (your Personal Geodatabase). Click "Yes" to proceed.
  4. You'll see another prompt asking if you'd like to create a feature dataset for this repository. If you choose "Yes", you'll need to define your spatial reference information.

Note: If you don't already know your spatial reference information, click on the link for information on how to import a coordinate system from an existing dataset. You may also need to upgrade your geodatabase and spatial references.

  5. After refreshing ArcCatalog, you'll see the LiveData Repository. This Repository contains six feature classes.
