The date information tracked on Work Order records and on related Task and Resource records is critical for work documentation, for performance analysis and for planning future work. Date fields appear on most of the main elements of a Lucity Work Order:
Work Resources - [Res Start Date, Res End Date (Employee, Equipment, Material, Fluid, Contractor)] - Specify when the Resource was used on the Work Order. These dates may be used to:
Lucity provides several Work Options that agencies can use to control/automate how date fields are completed on a Work Order. These options are available in Work Options > Work > Dates.
Auto-Change WO Dates to Match Task Dates - Uses dates from Work Order Task records to populate the Work Order's Start Date and End Date fields, ensuring that the Work Order reflects the full extent of time it took to accomplish the work.
Auto-Populate End Date from Start Date for Task/Resources - Makes sure End Date values are populated on all Task and Resource records.
Enforce Resource End Date = Start Date - Restricts Start Dates and End Dates on Resource records to the same day, thereby forcing users to record only one day's worth of work for a Resource at a time. If a Task stretches over several days, users must add duplicate Resource records to track the work on different days.
Enforce Resource Dates Are within Task Start and End Dates - Forces users to enter date values on Resource records that fall within the Start Date and End Date for the related Task record. This option ensures that the dates on Work Orders all make sense.
Enforce Starting and Ending Dates on Close of Work Order- Requires users to enter the Work Order's Start Date and End Date values before setting the Work Order status to "Closed."
Enforce Task End Date = Start Date - Restricts Start Dates and End Dates on Task records to the same day, thereby forcing those records to reflect only one day's worth of work. If the Work Order stretches over several days, users must add duplicate Task records to trackthe work taking place on different days.
Populate Resource Dates from Task Dates - Makes sure all date fields on Resource records are populated by applying the related Task record's dates.
