The Lucity Messenger notifications feature allows you to create default messages that will be displayed as a pop-up window on selected recipients' workstations. Settings in the Work flow Setup Problems, Tasks, and Employees modules will determine when pop-up messages are sent. For additional information, consult the Sending Notifications topic.
Important: The Lucity Messenger application is no longer installed automatically with the program. Please call Lucity Support for information on how to install it.
Note: User name and login information must be set up in the Lucity Messenger program prior to creating notifications. Also, check with your system administrator to ensure that your system will allow the port communication to the GSMsnger.exe application between workstations in your network. Often, local or network firewalls will automatically disable the Lucity Messenger by default.
Upon receiving a pop-up message, recipients can choose to view the actual work order or request related to the message or dismiss the message. For instance, if a user gets a message about a new work order assigned to him, he can click on "View Record" and the work order record will open, or he can simply close the window without viewing the record.
