Special Function: Open Warranty Notice

Lucity alerts users if any of the Fleet, Equipment, or Facility records on a Work Order are under warranty. This feature helps protect agencies from performing work that is covered by a warranty or that would void a warranty.

Setup

No setup is required. Lucity performs warranty-checks by default.

How It Works

When users create or edit a Work Order, Lucity will produce a Warranty Notice if:

• the Work Order Status < 950; AND
• the Work Order has at least one Fleet, Equipment, or Facility asset listed in the Assets tab; AND
• an attached asset has at least one record in the Warranty module; AND
• the Current System Date <= the warranty's Expiration Date; OR
• for Fleet-related warranties, the Fleet record's Current Odometer <= the warranty's Ending Mileage.

  Note: Users can manually check Warranties using the Check Warranties for Selected Record(s) toolkit, located in the Work Order's Assets grid toolbar.
