PM Tightly Linked PMs

The Tightly Linked PM grid enables you to create a series of two or more sliding PMs that generate work based on a linked Scheduled PM. Regardless of the number of PMs in the program, the scheduling is based on a single Scheduled PM to which these PMs are linked. You can create two types of PMs in this grid:

The PM Tightly Linked grid displays the records containing the Tightly Linked or Affected Schedules for a Scheduled PM.

Important: The Tightly Linked PMs grid is only used for Tightly Linked and Affected PMs linked to Standard PMs.

Open the PM/Templates module.
Click the to expand the PM record that:
1. is marked as Scheduled and Tightly Linked;
2. is not marked as Grouped or Affected.
Select the PM Tightly Linked PM grid and click Add . The Tightly Linked Schedule opens.
The schedule record is marked as Tightly Linked. This populates from the linked PM and cannot be changed.
Use the Routine Code picklist to select a Scheduled PM to which this PM will be linked.
*IMPORTANT: The PM you select must have the same assets as the PM to which you are linking.
Enter the # Between number of Scheduled PM cycles that will happen between occurrences of the Tightly Linked PM.
Enter the # Remaining number of Scheduled PM cycles that will happen before the first occurrence of the Tightly Linked PM.
Click Save . The Tightly Linked PM record now appears in the grid and will generate work based on this record's parameters in relation to the linked Scheduled PM.

Open the PM/Templates module.
Click the to expand the PM record that:
1. is marked as Scheduled and Affected;
2. is not marked as Grouped or Tightly Linked.
Select the PM Tightly Linked PM grid and click Add . The Affected Schedule opens.
The schedule record is marked as Affected. This populates from the linked PM and cannot be changed.
Use the Routine Code field to select a Scheduled PM to which this PM will be linked.
The # Between and # Remaining fields are inactive for this type of PM Schedule.
Click Save . The Affected PM record now appears in the PM Grouped PM Tightly Linked PMs grid and will generate work at the same time as the linked Scheduled PM.

Tightly Linked PM	Identifies that the PM is marked as a Tightly Linked PM. This field is marked here and cannot be changed if also marked on the initial linked PM record.
Affected PM	Identifies that the PM is marked as an Affected PM. This field is marked here and cannot be changed if also marked on the initial linked PM record.
Routine Code *	Identifies the Scheduled PM that this to which this Tightly Linked/Affected PM is attached.
# Between PMs	Sets the number of schedule repetitions that will occur between instances of the PM generating a Work Order. This field is only active and required on Tightly Linked PMs.
# Remaining	Indicates the number of schedule iterations that will occur before the Tightly Linked PM will be substituted for the Scheduled PM and generate a Work Order. This field is only active and required on Tightly Linked PMs.
