Locations

Locations are geographic points where work will take place. Locations may represent the street address or map coordinates of Work Order assets or a place where work needs to be done that is not tied to a specific asset. When crews must perform the same task at multiple sites—such as pothole or sidewalk repairs—the Work Order system enables users to identify multiple locations.

In certain instances, it may be useful to create a new Work Order at the same location and the link the work orders together. This feature is particularly useful when follow-up work is required at a work site.

The Work Order > Locations grid displays all of the sites where work will take place related to the Work Order. Records may be added to this grid:

In the Work Orders module, click the button to expand the Work Order record to which you want to add a location.
Select the Locations grid and click the button. The Location form appears with the Location No. field already populated.
Identify the location using the fields provided (Address, Parcel Number and/or Coordinates).
Click the button to save the record. The new Location appears in the grid.
Repeat Steps 1-4 as necessary to identify each location where work will take place.
Note: The first location entered in this grid appears in the Work Order's Address fields.

In the Work Orders module, click the button to open the desired Work Order.
Overwrite or make new selections in the Address, Street Name, Street Name 2, Apartment, Loc City, Loc State and/or Loc Zip Code fields to identify the additional location.
Click to save the Work Order.
Repeat Steps 1-3 as necessary to identify each site where work will take place.
The system adds a record for each new address to the Work Order > Locations grid; however, the form fields revert to display data for the first record in the Work Order > Locations grid.

In the Work Orders module, click the to expand the desired Work Order record.
Select the Locations grid.
Click the drop-down arrow next to the button and select Add Asset/XY from Map. The Web Map opens and the following dialog appears:
Click OK.
Select the tool.
Click on a location in the map. A green pushpin appears at the point, and a new layer appears in the Table of Contents called Lucity Point Locations Tool.
Select one or more features or Work Points in the Webmap or from the Data Table.
Click the Go button next to the Web Map's Attach to Work Order tool. The Work Points are added to the Location grid of the Work Order.

In the Work Orders module, click the to expand the desired Work Order record.
Select the Locations grid and select one or more Location records which you want to view in the map.
Click the (Show in Map) button. The Web Map opens and displays the selected location.

In the Work Orders module, click the to expand the desired Work Order record.
In the Locations grid, select the Location record(s) for which you want to create a linked Work Order. (The Toolkit requires the user to select at least one record.)
Click the button in the Locations grid and select the Create Linked WO | Selected Record(s) tool. A pop-up appears, asking the user to confirm the number of records that would be affected by the action.
Click Yes. A new Work Order Form appears.
Designate a Category (required) for the Work Order(s) and complete other fields as desired.
Click to save the Work Order record(s). One new Work Order will be created for each of the selected work Location(s). The new, linked Work Orders will appear in the Work Order grid of the original Work Order and vice versa.

Address Street Name	Identifies the street address of the work site. > Duplicate Work Orders - Searches for Work Orders on the same block as the entered address. The size of the block is controlled by the "Address Block Range for WOs" Work Option.
Loc Apart/Suite	Specifies a particular apartment or suite within the building.
Address 2 Street Name 2	Identifies a secondary address for the work site.
General Location	Describes the general location of the work site using points of reference.
Loc City	Identifies the municipality in which the work is being done.
Loc State	Identifies the state in which the work is being done.
Loc Zip Code	Specifies the zip code of the location in which the work is being done.
Loc Parcel Number	Identifies the number assigned to real property where the work is being done.
Loc Country	Specifies the country in which the work is being done.
Building Type	Classifies the type of structure at which the work is being done.
Loc X Coord. Loc Y Coord. Loc Z Coord.	Indicates the position of the location at which the work is being done using GIS coordinates.
Start Date	Identifies the date when work at this location began or should begin. This field is for record-keeping purposes only. It does not affect any work calculations.
Completion Date	Identifies the date when work at this location was finished or should finish. This field is for record-keeping purposes only. It does not affect any work calculations.
