Lucity's IPT Monitoring Point Test module provides a Daily Test function to help agencies or industrial clients determine whether the amount of a particular parameter found at a specific monitoring point complies with established daily limits.
Lucity users generate Daily Test results by running one of the applicable toolkits found in the Monitoring Point Test module. Beyond its value in risk monitoring, Daily Test data is also used to perform the 4-Day Test and the Monthly Test.
As part of the Daily Test process, Lucity determines:
What is the Daily Result and how does it compare to established compliance thresholds?
The Daily Result toolkit performs its analysis by:
Producing a Daily Result value showing the quantity of the Parameter detected at that Monitoring Point:
In most cases, the system carries over Conc Result value as the Daily Result. (See Special Function: View Grid Form Configuration for more details.)
However, if the tester marks test Below Detectable Limit, the system calculates the Daily Result using the Detection Limit from the related Parameter Setup record: (Detection Limit * 0.5 = Daily Limit)
Comparing the Daily Result to limits established in the Monitoring Point's Parameter record.
Lucity determines whether the Parameter is set as a ranged parameter (i.e., whether the Range Check field is enabled).
The pH factor is an example of a ranged parameter that is checked for an upper and lower limit.
Then, it compares the Daily Result to the Daily Limit and, if applicable, the Daily Lower Limit thresholds (both of which are carried over from the Monitoring Point Parameter record) to determine whether the parameter is in compliance.
If the Daily Result is GREATER THAN the Daily Lower Limit and LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO the Daily Limit, the substance is considered compliant at that monitoring point. Lucity checks the Daily Compliance box on the related Testing Test List record.
If the Daily Result is LESS THAN the Daily Lower Limit or GREATER THAN the Daily Limit, the substance is considered noncompliant at that monitoring point. Lucity checks the Daily Non-Compliance box on the related Testing Test List record.
Finally, it compares the Daily Result to the Daily Magnitude Level and, if applicable, the SNC Daily Lower Limit, to determine if the parameter is significantly noncompliant.
If the Daily Result is LESS THAN the SNC Daily Lower Limit value (from the Monitoring Point's Parameter record) or GREATER THAN the Daily Magnitude Level (same as the SNC Daily value on the Monitoring Point's Parameter record), the substance is considered significantly noncompliant. Lucity checks the Daily Magnitude NC box on the related Testing Test List record.
Create a filter to identify the IPT Facility Monitoring Point Test records for which you would like to generate test results.
For example, you could create a filter to find all Tests:
for a particular Monitoring Point at a specific Facility;
for a certain Parameter; or
with a specific Due Date.
Note: If, for any reason, a user wishes to exclude a particular parameter reading from the analysis, simply check the Ignore Sample checkbox on the related Testing Test List record.
Click the button in the IPT Facility Monitoring Point Test toolbar and select Calculate Daily Test Results on IPT Facility | Current Filter. A pop-up appears, asking the user to confirm the number of records against which the Toolkit will run.
To continue, click Yes. The system performs the Daily Test analysis on all filtered Test List records. If the toolkit runs successfully, a pop-up message appears in the bottom-right of the Lucity screen.
To view the Daily Test results, open the Testing Test List records associated with the Monitoring Point Tests on which you ran the toolkit. In the "Results" section of the form, you'll find the Daily Result value and checkboxes that convey whether the system found the Parameter to be compliant, non-compliant or significantly noncompliant for the day at that Monitoring Point.
Select the IPT Facility Monitoring Point Test records for which you would like to generate test results.
Note: If, for any reason, a user wishes to exclude a particular parameter reading from the analysis, simply check the Ignore Sample checkbox on the related Testing Test List record.
Click the button in the IPT Facility Monitoring Point Test toolbar and select Calculate Daily Test Results on IPT Facility | Selected Records. A pop-up appears, asking the user to confirm the number of records against which the Toolkit will run.
To continue, click Yes. The system performs the Daily Test analysis on the selected Test List records.
How do I determine the Daily Test results?
Lucity displays the quantitative and analytical results of the Daily Test in the Testing Test List records associated with each Monitoring Point Test. To view the data, open a Testing Test List record related to one of the Tests against which you ran the Daily Test toolkit and scroll to the "Results" section. (See graphic above.)
To view Monitoring Points that are noncompliant or significantly noncompliant, users can filter the data on the Daily Non-Compliance or Daily Magnitude NC field.
