Lucity's IPT Monitoring Point Test module provides a Monthly Test function to help agencies or industrial clients determine whether the amount of a particular parameter found at a specific monitoring point complies with established monthly limits.
Lucity users generate Monthly Test results by running one of the applicable toolkits found in the Monitoring Point Test module.
As part of the Monthly Test process, Lucity determines:
What is the Monthly Result and how does it compare to established compliance thresholds?
The Monthly Result toolkit performs its analysis by:
Producing a Monthly Result value showing the quantity of the Parameter detected at that Monitoring Point:
Lucity adds all of the Daily Result values taken on dates within a calendar month and divides the sum by the number of Daily Results it found.
Important: Lucity performs Monthly Test calculations using Daily Result data. Users must first run the Daily Test toolkit on the Monitoring Point Test records for which Monthly Results are desired.
Important: Users may only run the Monthly Test once the calendar month has been completed. For instance, although the last business day of the month might be Jan. 29, a user cannot run the Monthly Test for January until Feb. 1. If a user attempts to run the test on Jan. 29, the toolkit will run; however, it will produce no results.
Note: If two or more tests were performed on the same day, the system does not find the average of the readings before calculating the monthly average. The 4-Day Test, on the other hand, does average daily readings as part of its analysis.
Comparing the Monthly Result to limits established in the Monitoring Point's Parameter record.
Lucity determines whether the Parameter is set as a ranged parameter (i.e., whether the Range Check field is enabled).
The pH factor is an example of a ranged parameter that is checked for an upper and lower limit.
Then, it compares the Monthly Result to the Monthly Limit and, if applicable, the Monthly Lower Limit thresholds (both of which are carried over from the Monitoring Point Parameter record) to determine whether the parameter is in compliance.
If the Monthly Result is GREATER THAN the Monthly Lower Limit and LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO the Monthly Limit, the substance is considered compliant at that monitoring point. Lucity checks the Monthly Compliance box on the related Testing Test List record.
If the Monthly Result is LESS THAN the Monthly Lower Limit or GREATER THAN the Monthly Limit, the substance is considered noncompliant at that monitoring point. Lucity checks the Monthly Non-Compliance box on the related Testing Test List record.
Finally, it compares the Monthly Result to the Monthly Magnitude Level and, if applicable, the SNC Monthly Lower Limit to determine if the parameter is significantly noncompliant.
If the Monthly Result is LESS THAN the SNC Lower Monthly value (from the Monitoring Point's Parameter record) or GREATER THAN the Monthly Magnitude Level (same as the SNC Monthly value on the Monitoring Point's Parameter record), the substance is considered significantly noncompliant. Lucity checks the Monthly Magnitude NC box on the related Testing Test List record.
Create a filter to identify the IPT Facility Monitoring Point Test records for which you would like to generate test results.
For example, you could create a filter to find all Tests:
for a particular Monitoring Point at a specific Facility;
for a certain Parameter; or
with a specific Due Date.
Click the button in the IPT Facility Monitoring Point Test toolbar and select Calculate Monthly Test Results | Current Filter. A pop-up similar to the following appears asking users to confirm the number of records the tool will run against:
Important:Users should run the Calculate Monthly Test Results toolkit only after the last calendar day of the month has passed. For example, although a test taken on the last business day of the month might represent the last test of the month, users should not run the Monthly Test Results toolkit until after the first of the following month.
To continue, click Yes. The system performs the Monthly Test analysis on all filtered Test List records. If the toolkit runs successfully, a pop-up message appears in the bottom-right of the Lucity screen.
To view the Monthly Test results:
Among the Monitoring Point Tests on which you ran the toolkit, open each Testing Test List record that represents the Last Test for Month for a parameter.
In the "Results" section of the form, you'll find the Monthly Result value and checkboxes that convey whether the system found the parameter to be compliant, non-compliant or significantly noncompliant with the monthly thresholds for that Monitoring Point.
Select the IPT Facility Monitoring Point Test records for which you would like to generate test results.
Note: The system calculates Monthly Analysis Results only for the record with the Last Test of Month field marked, and only for past months.
Note: If, for any reason, a user wishes to exclude a particular parameter reading from the analysis, simply check the Ignore Sample checkbox on the related Testing Test List record.
Click the button in the IPT Facility Monitoring Point Test toolbar and select Calculate Monthly Test Results | Selected Records. A pop-up similar to the following appears, asking the user to confirm the number of records against which the Toolkit will run.
To continue, click Yes. The system performs the Monthly Test analysis on the selected Test List records. If the toolkit runs successfully, a pop-up message appears in the bottom-right of the Lucity screen.
To view the Monthly Test results, open the Testing Test List records associated with the Monitoring Point Tests on which you ran the toolkit. In the "Results" section of the form, you'll find the Monthly Result value and checkboxes that convey whether the system found the parameter to be compliant, non-compliant or significantly noncompliant with the monthly thresholds for that Monitoring Point.
How do I determine the Monthly Test results?
Lucity only displays the quantitative and analytical results of the Monthly Test in the Testing Test List recordmarked as Last Test of Month. To view the data, open the Testing Test List record marked Last Test of Month and scroll to the "Results" section. (See graphic above.)
To view Monitoring Points that are noncompliant or significantly noncompliant, users can filter the data on the Daily Non-Compliance or Daily Magnitude NC field.
