This release checklist applies only to clients who are upgrading from version 7.40 or higher. If you are upgrading from a version prior to 7.40, please contact a Lucity support representative.
Prior to the Upgrade
Lucity Mobile Server requires Lucity Mobile Work Orders for Android version 1.2, 9 or higher. Please upgrade the Android devices from the Google marketplace prior to upgrading.
Eden clients who plan to upgrade to or are on Eden 5.80+ will need to install or upgrade the Lucity REST API.
Retrieve the LicenseCodes.xml used for 7.40 or 7.50 or re-request a license file from afowles@lucity.com
Clients using the Lucity Mobile tablet application will require an updated LicenseCodes.xml file when upgrading to 7.60.
Install Products
Clients who own warehouse master may be affected by a delete transaction which will be executed during the work database upgrade. The transaction deletes extraneous records from the PTINV table. It may cause transaction logs to fill up. Either increase the available transaction logs or be prepared to be notified that they are full during the upgrade. If this happens during the upgrade, truncate or increase the available size and then return to the error and tell the database upgrade to continue processing.
There is a new installation called Lucity Document Server. It is a web application that facilitates uploading and downloading files and moving them to a desired file store. It supports uploading documents to the web or file server from Lucity Web, Lucity Citizen Portal, and the tablets. It also supports downloading documents from this server file store to Lucity Web or the tablets. The tablet release supporting the upload/download will be in Fall 2013. Uploading documents from Lucity Web is not supported for Windows Server 2003.
To support citizens or internal users uploading images to Lucity Citizen Portal, the Lucity Citizen Portal server (in the DMZ) must be able to make http requests to the Lucity Document Server (not in the DMZ).
To support tablet users uploading and downloading documents, the Lucity Mobile Server must be able to make http requests to the Lucity Document Server.
Lucity Web is now a required installation for all clients who use Lucity Mobile Server or the Lucity Citizen Portal to support document upload/download.
Further details about Populating Sewer and Storm Pipe Unique Identifiers
Prior to upgrading to 7.40, the Sewer and Storm Pipe Unique Identifiers should be populated in the GIS and in Lucity. Instructions for this task were emailed to all clients in May 2012. If these instructions are not followed, the fields will be automatically populated in Lucity, but NOT in the GIS. This will cause problems with the link between the two. These instructions can be found here: http://support.lucity.com/downloads/InstructionsForPipeIdChangesFor740.pdf
The upgrade will auto-populate these fields if they are empty. The fields will be using this formula. NT_ID+Lucity740. For a feature with NT_ID=12345 the NT_NUMBER would be 12345Lucity740.
