On the right side of the Permission Setup screen there are 2 tabs and 2 grids that allow users to navigate through all the available permissions and then assign them to the Groups and users Selected on the left.
Modules View
Modules view allows administrators to navigate through permissions based on module. It allows them to mark which module they would like to see permissions for in the Modules Grid. They can then view the permissions related to the selected modules in the Permissions grid. From there they can select the desired permissions in the Permissions grid and apply changes using the Grant, Remove, or Deny buttons. The changes are applied to ALL modules that are checked in the Modules grid.
Modules grid
Displays a list of modules, components, and programs within the Lucity system. Checking a module in this grid causes it's permissions to be displayed in the Permissions grid.
Permissions Grid
Displays a list of permissions that apply to the modules selected in the Modules grid. Permissions selected in this grid can be Granted, Removed, or Denied to groups and users selected on the Groups/Users Tabs. The permissions that display in this grid are controlled by selections in the Modules grid and the following two options.
The Groups and Users tabs allow administrators to select groups and users to apply permissions to while providing information about their current permissions.
Groups tab
Groups grid
This displays a list of all the groups. Select one or more groups to see the related users and permissions.
Users In Group(s) grid *
This displays all the users in the groups that are selected in the Groups grid.
Assigned Permissions *
Displays all the permissions assigned to a group selected in the Groups grid. This will not display the permissions if more than one group is selected.
Users tab
Users grid
This displays a list of all the users. Select one or more users to see the related groups and permissions.
The Locate button provides a way to search for a specific user
Groups Containing Users grid *
This displays all of the groups the currently selected users are in.
Effective Permissions *
Displays all the permissions assigned to a user selected in the Users grid. This will not display the permissions if more than one user is selected.
Display User Permissions Only
Check this box to hide any Effective Permissions the selected user inherits from a group. This allows administrators to quickly see which individual overrides the user has assigned.
* These grids can be turned off using the View menu.
Permission Control buttons
<< Grant
Grants the permissions currently selected on the right to the groups or users currently selected on the left.
<< Remove
Removes the permissions currently selected on the right to the groups or users currently selected on the left.
<< Deny
Denies permissions currently selected on the right to the groups or users currently selected on the left.
Permissions applying to one or more of the selected modules
If more than one module is selected in the Modules grid, and this option is marked, the Permissions grid will display all permissions related to all selected modules. This is true even if a permission only applies to one of the modules.
Permissions applying to all selected modules
If more than one module is selected in the Modules grid, and this option is marked, the Permissions grid will only display permissions that apply to all the selected modules. Permissions that don't apply to all the selected modules will be hidden.
Permissions View
The Permissions view tab allows users to view modules related to permission. It allows them to select permission(s) the would like to see related modules for in the Permissions Grid. They can then see the related modules in the Modules Grid. From there they can select the modules in the grid that they want the select permissions to be applied to and use the Grant, Remove, and Deny buttons to make changes. These changes are applied to all to the selected groups/users for the selected modules and permissions.

Displays a list of permission within the Lucity System. Selecting a permission in this grid causes all of the modules that use that permission to be displayed in the Permissions grid.
