At the top of the module window you will see header data. This data remains at the top of your screen as you use the tabs to navigate through the record. The header fields are described in the table below:
Field Name |
Definition |
Equipment ID |
The Equipment ID uses two fields. The first is a required, user-defined field that you will use to enter a numerical code. The second field allows you to enter the equipment description or name. Remember: When choosing an Equipment ID, the number must be unique; therefore, it represents only one piece of equipment. Do not use a lengthy or complex number. Do not use a number that is subject to change. Instead, use a permanent number that is easily viewed when looking at the piece of equipment. Also, remember to retire the Equipment ID number when you retire the equipment. The Equipment ID may be alphanumeric. For example, HST12345. |
Equip Rec ID |
This field is automatically populated with a database generated number. |
Operating Status |
This code-description field allows you to indicate the equipment's status (i.e. operational, out-of-service, sold). Note: Any piece of equipment with a status code above 950 is considered out-of-service. Anything below 950 is considered operational. No PMs can be generated for non-operational vehicles (those with a status greater than 950). |
Equipment Type |
This user-defined, code-description field allows you to indicate the type of equipment in the record. |
Note: The Operating Status and Equipment Type fields are optional and may be modified by your system administrator to better fit your management needs.
