The Merge Sewer Pipe tool will merge two sewer pipes in the map and in the Lucity™database. The tool also offers the ability to delete the associated sewer structure from the map and the Lucity database.
Important: This tool should be used to merge sewer pipes because it protects the data integrity of the Lucity database. If you merge these features manually, the system will not merge inspections, work history, and inventory information for the new feature.
To merge two features in the map:
In ArcMap, start an edit session.
Click the Merge Storm Conduits tool on the Lucity GIS Edit toolbar.
Using the Merge tool, select the two adjacent features. You can do this by dragging a box around the two pipes or by clicking on one pipe and then holding down the SHIFT key while clicking on the second pipe. You can only merge two pipes at a time.
Once you have the two pipes selected, right click over one of the pipes and select “Merge Sewer Pipes.
The following dialog will appear.
Select "Yes" if you would like the sewer structure to be removed from the structure feature layer and deleted from the Lucity database. If you select “No”, the sewer structure will remain in the map and will not be deleted from the Lucity database.
A message will be displayed when the features have been successfully merged in the map.
Important: Save your edits after using this tool; do not cancel your edits. Failure to save your edit session will result in the desktop not getting updated correctly.
