SDE Database Versioning

Clients using an enterprise geodatabase (ArcSDE) can now indicate which versions of their geodatabase are "Lucity versions". This gives users the ability to selectively choose versions for updating Lucity from the geodatabase.

Note: Prior to version 6.72, all geodatabase version edits updated Lucity.

To modify geodatabase versions as "Lucity versions", complete the following steps:

  1. Open ArcCatalog.
  2. From the Lucity toolbar, select Tools > Lucity Custom Geodatabase Setup.

Note: A Lucity login is required.

  3. Select System > Version Setup from the top menu of the Geodatabase Synchronization Setup form.

  4. Uncheck the Update Lucity from All Versions box.  By default, this option is checked.

  5. When unchecked, a grid will appear allowing you to enter the geodatabase versions and if they should update Lucity.

  6. Enter the geodatabase version name in the Version column (i.e. SDE.DEFAULT or GISAdmin.ProjectVersion).

The geodatabase version name always appears as [version owner].[version name]. We call this the fully qualified version name.

  7. Populate the Update Lucity? column.
  8. If you need to add another version, click "Add Version" and repeat steps 3-4.  Continue this process until all geodatabase versions have been entered.

Using this tool, the system will only track edits in the version(s) you have defined here, and only these version(s) will synch with the desktop.
