In the Sewer program there are four main options for assigning a flow basin to your pipe inventory. These options are listed below. The first two options involve only the Pipe Inventory module while the other two options involve the Flow Basin Inventory module.
Note: While options 1 and 2 can be interchanged, do not interchange options 3 and 4 as this will overwrite your data. It is best to pick one method and use it consistently.
Option 1: Assign a flow basin to each pipe manually via the Pipe Inventory module.
Option 2: Assign flow basins by selecting a set of features in the GIS and assigning a flow basin.
Note: This will only work if the Flow basin field is linked to a field in the Sewer Pipe GIS feature class and only for pipes in that feature class
Option 2: Assign flow basins by selecting a set of features in the GIS and assigning a flow basin.
Note: This will only work if the Flow basin field is linked to a field in the Sewer Pipe GIS feature class and only for pipes in that feature class
After assigning all the flow basins to all of the pipes, complete the following:
Open the Flow BasinInventory module.
Click the Toolkit icon and execute the “Create From Pipe Inventory” option. This will delete and re-generate the flow basin outlets table based on what is defined in the Pipe Inventory.
Option 4: Using a map, determine all the basin outlets.
After finding all of the outlets, go into the Flow Basin Inventory module and add a new record for a new basin.
Add all of the flow basin outlets for that basin to the flow basin outlet grid.
After ALL flow basins and all flow basin outlets are defined, execute the “Update Pipe Inventory” Toolkit option in flow basins.
