Merge Streets

To access this tool, click the Merge Streets button. The following window will appear:

Merge Streets

To merge two streets together, complete the following steps:

Select the first street you want to merge from the Street A drop down list. When you tab or click out of the dropdown list, the tool will fill in the first street’s name and the From and To street names for that street.
You can now select one of the adjacent streets for that segment from the Street B pull down list. You will notice that the only streets available in this list are streets that are directly adjacent to the street in the Street A drop down list. When you tab or click out of the Street B drop down list, the street name and From and To street names for Street B will be populated.
Enter a street number and street name for the new segment. The two existing street numbers are available in the street number drop down list, but you can enter a new segment number as well.
Once the street number has been selected, the Merge button is enabled and you can merge the streets.
There are several optional preferences you can modify before merging the segment; these are described below. In addition, the table below defines the options available for each preference.
- Street ADT - A measure of the traffic volume that travels the original street.
- Street Width
- Attached Documents - This includes documents from the Segment Network module.
- Inspections
  Note: The Inspections option is not currently used. At this time, the inspections remain on their existing subsegments. If there is an inspection tied to each street, and the streets are not subsegmented prior to the merge, the merge tool will subsegment the street at the merge point in order to keep the existing inspections.
- Comments - This includes comments from the Segment Network module.
- Office Information – This includes the attributes that are assigned to a segment in the Street module.
- General Segment Attributes – These are the attributes assigned to the segment in the Segment Network module.

Proportional Average	Takes a proportional average of the ADT or Width based on the length of the two original segments.	Street ADT, Street Width

Add	For values, adds the ADT value from each original segment to calculate the new ADT value. OR For Comments/Documents, adds all items attached to the two original segments to the newly merged segment.	Street ADT, Attached Documents, Comments
Null	For values/attributes, sets the value/attributes to Null for the newly merged segment. OR For documents/comments, drops all attached information for the newly merged segment.	Street ADT, Street Width, Attached Documents, Comments, Office Information, General Segment Attributes
