Filter Text String

The Filter Text String feature allows you to use a filter from an inventory module to list multiple assets in a PM work order.  For example, when creating a PM for a drainage basin you could list all the pipes individually in the Assets grid.  However, this may be hard to keep updated.  It would be easier to use a filter created in the Pipe Inventory module. Alternatively, you can do both: add assets manually AND use a filter.  An example is shown in the Assets tab above.  In this tab, two assets have been manually added to the grid and a filter string has been created.  This will result in a work order that has these two assets AND all records that meet the filter.

Complete the following steps to set up the Filter Text String:

  1. Click Filter Name in the Filter Text String window.  A list of available filters will appear.

Note: The category you choose for the PM will determine which filters are available.

  2. Select the filter and click Button OK. The filter name and string will appear in the Filter Text String window.

The assets associated with that filter will appear in the Assets grid of the PM work order.

Note: The system will automatically compare the existing assets in the grid to the assets associated with the filter to ensure that no duplicate assets are assigned.

  3. Click to clear the Filter Text String window and start over.
