Renumber Storm Structure

The Lucity GIS Edit tools include a tool used for renumbering storm structures. Because Lucity tracts which asset is which by common id it needs this special tool to know when the id is being changed. This changes the number in the map and tells lucity to change the related Lucity record's number too.

If users change the number in ArcMap in any other way Lucity will think that a new feature has been added. The result will be a feature in Lucity with the old number and linked to any related records, and a new feature linked to the map.

Note: This tool is only enabled if you have one feature selected in the map.

How To

Renumber a feature:

  1. In ArcMap, start an edit session.
  2. Select a storm feature in the map.
  3. Click the Storm Renumber tool on the Lucity GIS Edit Toolbar.

    SM_Renumber menu

  4. The renumber tool requires that edits be saved before and after performing the renumber. A message similar to the following will appear.

    SW_Renumber message

    SM_Merge Message

  5. Click Yes and the following dialog will appear.

    SM_Renumber dialog

  6. Enter the new number and select OK. The following dialog will appear.
  7. The following message will appear when the renumber process is finished.

    SW_Renumber successful

  8. The feature's common id will be updated as well as any related features. For example, if it is a storm structure, the structure number will change in the geodatabase and in Lucity. If that structure is the up or down stream structure for any pipes, those will be updated too.
