Use the ESRI Data Loader

1. In ArcCatalog, select the feature class into which you wish to import data.
2. Right click on the feature class and select Load > Load Data.
3. Follow the steps provided in the ESRI Simple Data Loader dialog to complete the import.
4. In ArcMap, load the feature class into which you just imported data.
5. Start an edit session.
6. Populate the required fields for the newly imported features.  Failure to do so will prevent these features from getting imported into the desktop application.
7. Run the Update Spatial Relationships tool (if needed) on the newly imported features.
8. Save your edit session.
