Creating an Inspection for Single Assets

To create an inspection from the map for a single asset, complete the steps below:

  1. Select the Open Module Tool .
  2. Right click on the asset in the map you would like to work with.

When you right click you will be given a menu with a list of assets at the approximate point you clicked on.  The system uses a small search tolerance so that you do not have to click exactly on the feature; however, this means you may also see additional features that neighbor the feature you are interested in.

  3. Select Create Inspections from the tool menu. This will display an additional drop-down menu allowing you to select the exact feature for which the inspection will be created.

In the illustration below, we have selected to work with a manhole located on a sewer line.

  4. Once you have select the feature, you will see a dialog box prompting you to choose a date for the inspection.

  5. You can also indicate whether you would like to attach documents to the record.  If you select the "Prompt for Docs/Images to be attached" checkbox, the following dialog will appear:

    Select Doc

  6. Click the button.  This allows you to browse to the folder containing the document you wish to attach.
  7. After opening the document you will need to enter a document description.  This will be displayed in the View Attached Documents window.
  8. Click Add when the process is complete.
  9. After you have entered an inspection date (and added documents, if desired), click Select. You will then see a box displaying how many inspections have been inserted into the database.  This box will prompt you whether or not you would like to view the inspections in Lucity.
