Creating a Work Order for Multiple Assets

To create a work order for a group of selected assets in the map, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the Open Module tool .
  2. Go to the selection tab of the Table of Contents and make sure that the proper asset type is marked.  For our example, we'll select Sewer Manholes (shown below).

    Table of Contents

  3. If you do not already have assets selected but would like to select a series of assets, you can left click and drag a box around the assets in the map.  The tool will select all features within the box you define.

Note:  If you only want to select work orders, you must have all other features unselected in the Table of Contents.  If you have selected other assets in the map that are also checked in the Table of Contents, they will be selected for the work order.

  4. After you have selected the feature in the map, they will be highlighted in bright blue by the system.  You can then right click on any selected feature to view the option box and create a work order.  In the illustration below, you can see the option to Create Work Order for All Sewer Manhole Selected Features.  In order to create your work order for all selected features, you must choose this option.  Only selected features that are in the same layer as the asset you right clicked on will be added to the work order.

Note:  When you choose this option, X/Y coordinates will not be included.

  5. Once you create the work order using this option, Lucity will open directly to that work order.  You will see all selected features in the Work Order Assets tab.  It will automatically carry over the address, object type, and system ID.
