Fields in the geodatabase that are linked to a Lucity code/type field (also called a pick-list) should contain a geodatabase domain. A domain serves the same functions in ArcMap that a picklist serves within Lucity; that is, it ensures data integrity and facilitates data population during an edit session.
To ensure data integrity between Lucity and the geodatabase, the pick-list values should match the domain values. The Domain Configuration tool in the Geodatabase Configuration allows administrators to quickly compare domains to pick-lists and fix any differences between them. There are also other tools to quickly create/update domains that store specialized Lucity information.
Domain Tools
There are six Domain tools:
Domain Configuration - Validates GIS domains against the Lucity pick-lists. Enables users to edit and manage each domain/pick-list combination.
Update GIS Domains to match Lucity Picklists - Creates and updates standard GIS domains from Lucity pick-lists for fields linked to Lucity.
Update Lucity Picklists to match GIS Domains - Creates and updates Lucity pick-lists from GIS domains for fields linked to the geodatabase.
Update Parent Linking Domains - Creates and updates domains for fields that store a record's Parent ID, making it easier to view the related parent.
Update Street Name Domains - Creates and updates the Street Name domain to provide drop-down lists for Street fields.
Update MUTCD Domains - Creates and updates the MUTCD list for the Street Sign Inventory.
Update Tree Domains - Creates and updates the Tree Type list for the Tree Inventory.
Update Work Category Domain - Creates and updates a list of Work Categories. This domain is used with a field that is linked to a Default Work Category field.
Considerations
Are the pick-lists in Lucity configured with the correct values?
Do the values in the feature class match what they should be when the domain is created?
Are the feature class fields linked to the right Lucity fields?
