Subset Manager

1. Open the desired module.
2. Create a filter that contains the data you want to include in the subset.
3. Click on the module toolbar to open the Subset Manager window.

   Note: If the module is capable of creating address subsets a prompt will appear at this point asking what kind of subset your are creating

   

4. Click to open the New Subset window.

   

5. Name the new subset.

   Note: If you click the green arrow, in the bottom left corner, you will see a list of existing subset names (duplicate names are not permitted).

6. Click  to save the new subset and return to the Subset Manager window where the name of the new subset will appear.

   or

7. Click  to return to the Subset Manager window without saving the new subset.

   You can also create a subset from a GIS map by selecting a set of features from the map and saving them as a subset. You can then view the subset in GIS or another related module.

1. Open the module from which you want to load the subset.  
2. Click Go to move past the filter (if necessary).
3. Click on the module toolbar to open the Subset Manager window.

   Note: If the module is capable of loading address subsets a prompt will appear at this point asking what kind of subset your are loading.

   

4. Select the name of the subset you wish to load.
5. Click . The subset records will then open.
6.  Look at the status bar to see the number of records in the set. Use the navigation  buttons , , , on the module toolbar to view the record set.

   While most subsets can only be viewed in related inventory or inspection modules, you can view all subsets in GIS and Work Orders module.

A tutorial movie is available for loading an asset subset from an asset module.

This allows you to load all the records from the subset that also meet the current filter criteria; thus, narrowing  your search and creating a smaller record set. You can also apply the sort feature to filters and then upon loading your subset, the records will be sorted in the specified order.

 Note: Advanced filters that include the following syntax are not supported by this feature: WHERE [ID] IN (SELECT [ID] FROM.

To load a subset in an existing filter, complete the following steps:

1. Create a filter or use a saved filter to open a record set.

   Note: If you want your records sorted in a specific order, use the Sort feature prior to loading the subset.

2. Click on the module toolbar to open the Subset Manager window.
3. Select the name of the subset you wish to load.
4. Click .  This will pull up all records from the subset that also meet the criteria for the current filter.
5. Look at the status bar to see the number of records in the set. Use the navigation buttons , , , on the module toolbar to view the record set.

   Note: If the module is capable of using address subsets a prompt will appear at this point asking what kind of subset your are dealing with. If this appears select the Load Address Subset or Load Inventory Subset option. If you select Load Inventory subset option you may also need to select the related inventory.

2. Select the name of the subset you wish to delete.
3. Click to delete the subset.
4. Click to exit the Subset Manager window.
