The Meters Ahead fields were designed to allow you to generate a PM work order before the next specified meter reading is achieved. For Fleet assets, it can be applied to either the Odometer, Hour Meter, or Other Meter readings. For Equipment assets, this feature can be applied to Hour Meter or Other Meter readings.
For example, if you have a PM that is scheduled to generate every 3,000 miles, you may want the work order in hand before that mileage is reached. In this situation, you could enter 100 in the Meters Ahead field for the Odometer reading. This means that the work order will be generated 100 miles ahead of the 3,000 mile requirement. That way, once a readings or fuelings record is entered with at least 2,900 miles recorded, the work order will be generated.
