Add/Delete

1. Decide which grid to add a record to. Multiple Add buttons can be visible at once, when child grids are open. To add a record to a grid users need to push the add button for the correct grid.
   • Clicking the Add button for the parent grid will add a record into that module.
   • If a parent record is expanded and the Add button attached to the child grid is used, it will add a child record attached to the parent record.

     

     Note: If an add button does not appear in the toolbar, it means one of two things: (1) There is no Form setup for the corresponding record type, or (2) the user does not have permissions to add records. Consult the system administrator for additional information.

2. Click the appropriate Add button. The Web will load a form for the module in another window.

1. Decide which records to delete and select them in the grid.
   • Multiple Delete buttons can be visible at once when child grids are open. To delete a record from a grid users need to push the Delete button for the correct grid.
   • Clicking the Delete button for the parent grid will delete the selected record(s) from that module.
   • If a parent record is expanded and the Delete button attached to the child grid is used, it will delete any selected child record(s) attached to the parent record.

     Note: If an Delete button does not appear in the toolbar, it means the user does not have permissions to delete records. Consult the system administrator for additional information.

2. Click the appropriate Delete button.
3. A prompt will appear asking for confirmation. Click Yes to delete the record(s).
4. If a delete is not allowed the user will receive a message informing them that "You are unable to delete this object due to its state and/or your permissions."

Warning: When a parent record is deleted, all child records associated with that parent are also deleted. For example, when a Fleet Inventory record is deleted, the associated Fleet Sub-Component records will be deleted as well.

Note: Some records cannot be deleted without other actions being completed first. For example: A Work Order cannot be deleted if it has a: linked Request, linked PM, Resources attached, or a WO Cost > 0
